Need Help, when I engrave a name the letters are all slanted?

Post by annalk69 »

Hi all
I have my engraver up and running, but when I engrave a name the letters are all slanted? Does anyone know what would cause my design to come out slanted? It is straight along the bottom, but each letter is tilted?

check your belts they may be a little loose and your head moves over just a little each pass

Thanks. We checked all the belts and they are all tight. Letters are still slanted?

Only reason is that y rails are not 90deg to x rail. You'll need to adjust by loosening screws and re-tighten. :D

As Triumphlaser experience :
1, if your belt is OK , then check your lens , may loose inside the laser head .
2,You could transfer the letters to vector file then try again .
3, if still has problem , shut down the laser machine , and move the axis by your hand and try to feel if anywhere is loose of the machine .
Hope helpful .

if you have checked all the above and its still doing the same, then check the setting for backlash compensation, this can cause misalignment if not set properly
