Neje mini laser frustrating me

Hi all
New to this so.apologies if this is a dumb question
I bought a 2nd hand neje do no 1500mw last weekend
Got it home and got it to burn a small logo on scrap wood that came with it so I thought all good
Then I tried to engrave a phone case but I think it was too big for the machine so stepper motor made a noise so I stopped it
Tried to engrave wood again and blurred black lines only, no clear text at all. I just tried to engrave a test graphic from the neje software a flower type image and it ended up being ok to start but then the bottom section of the graphic had shifted left about 50%
So my question is
Is it fixable?
How do I fix it
I noticed today as I tried to focus the laser it seemed to move the dot, could it be a loose laser or have I screwed the machine
