Just found this in my feeds - a 2d opensource laser printer
I got this from one of my news feeds. This might just fill a need in reprap. Uses 40w CO2 laser.

mcmorran, you may want to just try to find a friendly hackerspace/fablab with an commercially made laser cutter to begin with. Or find a commercial shop in the yellow pages. You could be making your stuff within a day.
