If the focus is fixed, the distance between the laser module and the surface of the part is always the same (usually a few mm)... if the focus is adjustable, you can move the module away and then adjust the focus, which is convenient for great height.

2-pin laser does not have PWM. If your board has a Motor input you must connect it to this. If you connect it to the 12v input, it will always be on and without control. What inputs does your board have? Have a picture?

For metal engraving, fiber laser is best.

Benbox is very limited software, would recommend
to you the LaserGRBL, free and very complete software... and they have their own forum for help.
