RDWorks Acceleration Values
I just setup my Chinese 50W CO2 laser (blue one on eBay) which uses RDWorks software for control. Test circles are coming out slightly oval. From other posts with similar problem, it recommended checking values of min/max acceleration to check if set too high. I am new to the metric system and have no idea what is correct. Current settings (unchanged from software install) are min acc (mm/2s) at 400 and max at 3000. Can someone provide some direction as to proper values?

I think you question is wrong size machine cut

In our Thunder laser machine Current settings at 3000 to 10000

Re: RDWorks Acceleration Values
Thanks, was unaware that software had this feature. However still have problem. I do not know password or were to find it. When I it "OK" I get a "Password Error" message and can not continue. Tried "Password Settings" under Config and got error message "Communication Error". How do I find the Vendor password to use?
Additional Info: Have tried several trail and error things to try to determine the vendor password without success. Did find that had to have PC connected to laser to eliminate the "Communication Error" message. Under the "Password Settings" Config dropdown now get window that has a box for entering password that says Unlock Key, however it does not give a key. Software does appear to run machine but still can not get into the Vendor section to modify the stepper values.

Re: RDWorks Acceleration Values
You need Consulting password from vendor.
Re: RDWorks Acceleration Values
Password obtained, followed solution link, and problem resolved.
Thanks

RDWorks Acceleration Values
I know how to pull out a joint displacement as a varible Nodedisp. But is there any way to pull out joint velocity and acceleration values as varibles? I appreciate your answeres?

Considering the Monport laser for its user-friendly interface, high quality, and affordability could help address the oval-shaped output you're experiencing with your Chinese 50W CO2 laser, controlled by RDWorks software. Start by adjusting the acceleration settings gradually, lowering the minimum acceleration (min acc) from 400 mm/2s to around 200 mm/2s and adjusting the maximum acceleration (max acc) accordingly. Experimentation within a reasonable range, such as 1000 to 2000 mm/2s for max acc, may help achieve more circular test circles. For further assistance, Monport's customer support or online forums may provide guidance tailored to your specific machine and software. https://monportlaser.com/collections/co ... ka374VZjm3

As for the oval-shaped test circles with your Chinese 50W CO2 laser using RDWorks software, adjusting the acceleration values can indeed help improve the circularity of your cuts. Typically, lower acceleration values can help reduce ovalization. Since you're new to the metric system, I'd suggest starting with lower values and gradually increasing them until you achieve satisfactory results. For instance, you might try setting the minimum acceleration (mm/2s) to around 100 and the maximum to around 1000 as initial values. Then, run test cuts to see if the circularity improves. If necessary, continue adjusting the values until you achieve the desired outcome. Additionally, consulting the manufacturer's guidelines or reaching out to experienced users for advice on optimal acceleration settings can be beneficial.
Re: RDWorks Acceleration Values
It makes sense to run into difficulties when configuring a new laser cutter, particularly when dealing with unknown parameters like acceleration values. I recall having a similar problem with oval-shaped slices with my Chinese CO2 laser a few months ago. But ever since I made the transition to Monport Laser https://bit.ly/48Fxwm7, accuracy has been a snap. Their software streamlines optimisation and control, guaranteeing precise and reliable cuts each and every time. I strongly advise attempting Monport Laser if you want to simplify your laser cutting process and get rid of oval-shaped cuts. In the long run, it might save you a great deal of time and headache.diggerdg wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2017 1:27 pm I just setup my Chinese 50W CO2 laser (blue one on eBay) which uses RDWorks software for control.
