Help choosing fiber laser

Post by Ratchnick »

I need a laser for marking text in hardened 4140 and 416 stainless steel. I have been looking at this cloudray:

Cloudray QS-30 LiteMarker Pro 30W Split Laser Engraver Fiber Marking Machine 4.3” X 4.3” Scan Area With D80 Rotary

https://www.cloudraylaser.com/collectio ... rking-area

For my application the text will be small only about 2mm (.080 thousands of an inch) tall but they must be engraved to a depth of .15mm (.006 thousands of an inch) OR DEEPER

I'm wondering if the above 30w cloud ray will do it, the reason I'm concerned is this machine has a limited 40-60 kHz frequency. I don't know much about laser settings but from my research to go deep most people use about 25 kHz.
